Mike Dawes
Mike Dawes is hailed as one of the world’s finest and mostcreative modern fingerstyle guitar performers. His acclaimed solo music has gained over 50 million hits on popular videosharing sites and since the release of his debut album in 2013 he has touredalmost every continent on the planet, with an average of 150 concerts per year. Mike needs to be seen live to be believed. His ability to create the most unusual tonesand textures simultaneously from a single acoustic guitar leaves fellowmusicians stunned. Bass, melody, harmony and percussion all seamlessly producedusing his signature technical yet intrinsically musical guitar technique. His show is not just for guitar fans however, his entertaining and humorous rapporttranscends the traditional guitar concert. Extraordinary virtuosity meets MontyPython via a one-man rock show. Mike has recorded with and taught multiplegrammy winning artists, appeared on film and TV soundtracks, released apps, written for the world’s best selling music magazines and in addition to hissolo work, currently performs alongside and in support of the legendaryfrontman of The Moody Blues, Justin Hayward, the debut live DVD of which enteredthe US Billboard charts at #2. Musicians including John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Gotye, Billy Sheehan and James Valentine(Maroon 5) have all spoken of their admiration towards Mike’s work. At 28 years of age, Mike has made a huge impact in a relativelyshort space of time. His persistent work ethic and entertainingly meticulousapproach to composition and performance on a single instrument has seen raisedsmiles and dropped jaws all over the world. He is not a typical guitar player. On a single steel string guitar Mike is able to coax out the most unusual andsubtle textures, whilst performing layers and layers of music simultaneouslyusing complex micro-techniques led predominantly by the right hand. In a style that is hard to illustrate, the young Brit combines rock, folk, funkand pop music in an instrumental concoction that leaves listeners both confusedand intrigued. However, it’s his innate musicality and ear for melody that givelisteners something different. Mike is able to utilise his advanced technicalarsenal to achieve a musical and emotional end, a skill set often lacking inthis instrumental category. In the live arena, his British humour and electricpresence sprinkle an entertainment not uncommon in a comedy club. He does nottake himself seriously, but the music is taken very seriously. £10 adv // 7pm // 14+ (U16 to be accompanied) .... more info

Dub Pistols
DUB PISTOLSThey're back! Although they've never really been away. Barry Ashworth's evergreen bunch of dubwise vagabonds have been rocking practically every festival in existence all summer, and yet have still found time to squeeze out a new album — their sixth. And it's another corker.'The Return Of The Pistoleros' makes them sound like a Latin prison gang, extras in a spaghetti western, a marauding mob of Tequila-swigging mobsters, or a Mexican drug cartel. Some of which have a grain of truth to them. Joking aside, though, it's been a long road to get to where they are — one of the most popular and best-loved acts on the circuit — but it's testimony to their perseverance and staying power that their popularity still keeps increasing. The Dubs have been dubbed 'The Pistoleros' in recent times by their army of fans — so it seemed only natural to adopt the tag for their latest album on Rob Da Bank's Sunday Best imprint. El Pistolero is also the nickname of Uruguay talisman Luiz Suarez, who knocked England out of the 2014 World Cup. But as Barry is a Liverpool fan, he's happy to still have this association. Just. The Dub Pistols coalesced in the mid-'90s and initially surfed the big beat wave along with acts like the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. They had some minor chart hits like 'Cyclone' and 'There's Gonna Be A Riot' on Concrete Records, remixed the likes of Moby and Limp Bizkit, and made dramatic inroads into America. Their debut album in 1998, 'Point Blank', cemented their position as party-rockers extraordinaire, and by the time it came to their second album around the Millennium — 'Six Million Ways To Live', with guest vocals by reggae great Horace Andy and lead singer of The Specials, Terry Hall — they were more concerned with some of the world's problems. The album was due to come out just before September 11th 2001 — the date of the Twin Towers terrorist attack in New York — and so had to be postponed. It was the start of the now-familiar Dub Pistols self-deprecating mantra: what could possibly go wrong? As the noughties progressed, they signed to Sunday Best and went a bit more poppy for 'Speakers & Tweeters', which included cover versions of 'Rapture' by Blondie, 'Peaches' by The Stranglers and 'Gangsters' by The Specials – a track they had been making their own live. After guesting on their second album with 'Problem Is', estranged Specials singer Terry Hall started singing live with them, and the warm reaction he received from music fans was instrumental in him agreeing to reform his infamous 2-Tone band a few years later.Next Dubs album 'Rum & Coke', so named after some infamous recording sessions in Barbados, introduced more guest vocalists such as former Freak Power man Ashley Slater and Beats International gal Lindy Layton, and with last long-player 'Worshipping The Dollar' in 2012 they consolidated their position as one of the foremost festival-rockers in Europe. The Dubs toured with Neville Staple from The Specials at the start of 2014, and this led to the toaster guesting on 'Real Gangster' on the new 'Pistoleros' album. On the album, 'Our Life' is a free-spirited dub cut featuring long-term Dubs vocalists Lindy Layton and TK Lawrence. Languid beats song 'Say Goodbye' features the deep jazzual tones of Ashley Slater, 'Report' showcases major new hip-hop talent Genesis Elijah freeflowing over some lilting Dan Bowskill verses, and 'Kill Your Sound' has great reggae vocalist Seanie Tee all over it.'Roll & Come In' sees the legendary Earl 16 (Leftfield etc) return to add sweet words to this spacious dub cut, and regular MC Darrison guests on dubwise drum & bass party track 'Ride With It'. And there's plenty more where that came from — it is, indeed, another corker.Like their incendiary live shows, this new long-player is a riotous mix of dub, drum & bass, hip-hop, punk and ska. They'll be heading out on tour this autumn in support of the new 'Pistoleros' release, so watch out! The gun-slinging outlaws are back in town — and this time, they're swigging Tequila. £14 adv //  7pm // 14+ (U16 to be accompanied) .... more info

Little Caesar
Nobody quite knew what to think of these longhaired, tattooed bikers singing such soulful, yet ballsy, rock music when they arrived on the scene in Los Angeles in 1987. Little Caesar, featuring Ron Young (vocals), Jimmy Hayne aka. Apache (guitar), Loren Molinare (guitar), Fidel Paniagua (bass) and Tom Morris (drums), first appeared on Metal Blade’s “Street Survivors” compilation. The band then released a four song EP titled “Name Your Poison” (produced by Joe Hardy of ZZ Top fame), which subsequently led to a deal with Geffen Records. Little Caesar’s eponymous 1990 Geffen debut was produced by the infamous Bob Rock (producer of Metallica’s self titled 1991 multi-platinum release, Motley Crue’s “Dr. Feelgood”, and The Cult’s “Sonic Temple” among others). The album was a no-nonsense collection of hard rock in the vein of ’70s giants like Bad Company and Humble Pie, and was also brimming with classic R&B influences, garnering widespread acceptance and positive reviews from the rock media. It also featured two Motown covers, including a ballsy rendition of the classic Aretha Franklin track, “Chain of Fools,” which hit the Billboard Top 100 chart and received strong airplay nationwide on both rock radio and MTV. The group toured extensively opening for such legendary acts as Jane’s Addiction, KISS, Social Distortion, Iggy Pop, Billy Idol, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. They also headlined their own club tours, and appeared on TV’s popular “Arsenio Hall Show”, “The Rick Dee’s Show”, and MTV’s “Sex in the 90’s”. Vocalist Ron Young was also featured in the movie “Terminator 2” as a tough talking biker that gets into a fight with the film’s star, Arnold Schwarzenegger. 1992 would bring the second full-length album, “Influence”, which would have Earl Slick (of John Lennon, David Bowie, and Ian Hunter fame) replacing Apache on guitar. The “Influence” album was produced by the well respected Howard Benson (who has recently produced releases for platinum artists like Daughtry, Papa Roach, and P.O.D. among others). The band completed its first tour of Europe after the release of the album and drew rave reviews and sold out crowds across multiple countries including a sold out headlining performance at the famous Marquee club in London. Since the reformation, the band has played high profile shows at venues as House of Blues, California Speedway for NASCAR, and the Rock The Bayou Festival in Houston TX. In 2010, Little Caesar moved forward with a vengeance on a worldwide level with new release titled "Influence" as well as touring in the US, Europe, and Japan. The new album features performances by original Guitar player Apache, as well as Earl Slick. LITTLE CAESAR’s current line up is Ron Young (vocals), Loren Molinare and Joey Brasler (guitars), Fidel Paniagua (bass) and Tom Morris (drums). .... more info

Moonshine

A comedy drama.

Easter 1991. Ballintra, a seaside village in Southern Ireland. The Protestant church is closing down, and the incompetent local undertaker is determined to stage a version of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Around these facts, Nolan builds a moving and memorable play in which members of a motley cast search for their private resurrections.
